New to Assessing the Early Years Foundation Profile

Outline

The course will cover the following:
  • EYFSP ARA and statutory requirements
  • EYFSP Handbooks
  • Characteristics of Effective Learning
  • Making judgements against ELGs
  • Exemplification materials
  • Standardisation activities
  • Moderation activities.

Description

This course will support teachers who will be assessing against the EYFS profile for the first time to develop an understanding of end of EYFS statutory assessment requirements. Delegates will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues from other schools to support consistency and build their confidence in making accurate assessment judgements. The event will also explain the Local Authority’s responsibility for moderation in a sample of schools to ensure that judgements are accurate.

Outcomes

Delegates will be fully prepared to assess the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile

  • EYFS Assessment and Reporting Arrangements
  • EYFS Exemplification Materials.

During the session delegates will be asked to share the achievements of a child in their class pleased come prepared to talk about the child’s achievements bringing whatever evidence you may have to support the discussion.
