This one day course has been designed to enable middle leaders (phase and core/foundation subject leaders) to develop the effectiveness of their role and ensure they make an impact on outcomes for the pupils.
The course content reflects the new Ofsted focus on the intent, implementation and impact of the school’s curriculum and will better prepare delegates for the inspection process from September 2019, with the increasing focus on subject leadership.
The day will include sessions on effective monitoring and evaluation processes and activities; simple but effective summative assessment; action planning and writing a subject evaluation for SLT and governors.
This course will provide opportunities to explore key strategies and the tools required to develop middle leadership skills in order to drive the school improvement agenda. It will ensure delegates have a better understanding of school accountability and their role within the leadership structure. The course will include the types of questions inspectors will be asking of middle leaders from September 2019. Delegates will have the opportunity to share experiences and best practice and will be provided with all the course materials to use back in school.
Delegates will: Have up-to-date knowledge of the revised inspection process as it applies to middle leadership Identify strategies, consider various tools and best practice examples within the role which will develop their effective leadership Develop an understanding of how to develop monitoring and evaluation practices to inform self-evaluation and to identify the next stage of school improvement within their leadership remit.
